It can justifiably be said that Wolff System AG is the successor of the founders who started – even invented – the business with sun beds thirty years ago. A short review will quickly disclose the coherences and reveal that there is indeed a straight line from the original to the present business partners at Wolff System. Just thirty years ago, in 1975, Friedrich Wolff laid the cornerstone for the commercial distribution of the sun bed by discovering the principal of the near field radiation. On this basis he invented “tanning without sunburn”, without which the operation of a sun bed with UV-low-pressure tubes would not have been possible. |
After ensuring that this had been the right step to bring health to the people, the brothers Friedrich and Jörg Wolff founded Wolff System Frankfurt and soon thereafter
Wolff System Corp. in the USA. In 1981 the “Professionell Lamp
Bellarium” was introduced to the market, which remains the number one professional lamp to this day. Over the years it was decided to stop production of sun beds and focus entirely on the sale of lamps. After a restructuring in 1986, logistics and administration got bundled at
Wolff System France, which had been on the market for twenty years at the time, while sales and marketing were transferred to
